about

This is about the trekking students and guide, out for an exciting wildlife trip, ending up losing their lives at Dyatlov Pass in early February 1959. Their memories live on, their bodies lost, but found together, in friendship, still swinging playfully from the trees, like children

lyrics

The winter sun will rise
For you to take in what’s in front of your eyes
Feeling just as free
As every living thing we see
Scurrying on the ground
To their own sound

When we hear the first thunder
Maybe we’ll start to wonder
If we’ll ever reach the peak
My friend it’s been over a week
It’s getting heavier and colder
On my shoulder

This is the time we had longed for
Wandering astray once more
Lost but found
In each other’s company

Before we started to climb
We should have taken the time
To assess the possibility
Of our inability
To map and retrace
The way to our starting place

If we got off the track
And never found our way back
I think I could get used to
Spending my days here with you
Living life at ease
Swinging from the trees

This is the time we had longed for
Wandering astray once more
Lost but found
In each other’s company
