Kochan What a find. Surprisingly upbeat indie pop for such an ominous mystery. This creates a lovely perception paradox, like smiling in the face of the inevitable.

QUEEF-O An international duo of Bob and Touanda offer a concept take on the story of Dyatlov’s Pass tragedy - opting out to use lightweigt clear sound, clean singing and positive melodies. Which is rare choice for the topic. I especially enjoyed the second part of the album. Either it grew on me, or it just gets more interesting. Misleading Clues is just beautiful.

Between the singing and the clink You could hear they had too much to drink There wasn’t a second of silence They were lucky there was no violence She said ‘your looks are pretty average’ And asked him for another beverage Then fell sat on the nearest chair To fix the braids on her hair She was the best he had ever seen But she wasn’t looking so keen She’d give him a kiss at the most But he was already getting too close It wasn’t a very good start Don’t walk alone Stay with someone else And if you’re getting lost Hang on to yourself Don’t be alone Stay with someone else And if things go bad Hang on to yourself He reached for another glass And suddenly started losing his class Shouted something quite shocking It must have been the alcohol talking He told her his love was fiery But she wasn’t convinced entirely That he’d be the right kind of lover She’d take home to introduce to her mother And it wasn’t a very good start Even the snow outside Felt warmer than her heart Don’t walk alone Stay with someone else And if you’re getting lost Hang on to yourself Hang on Hang on to someone else And if things go bad Hang on to yourself

Here’s my helmet you can borrow I’m leaving here tomorrow And try to make those feelings disappear I just thought you should know I heard it on the radio Things are not getting better around here Just imagine all I could be In a place where no one knows me No one there to disagree And I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars And illuminate the way with my own light I don’t have much in my wallet Just a few coins and a sonnet That you left under my bedside lamp I’m a little scared if I’m honest But I’ll write to you I promise If I get to work out the right stamp Just imagine all I could be In a place where no one knows me No one there to disagree And I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars And illuminate the way with my own light If they ever hear this story Please tell our friends I’m sorry That I didn’t get to say good-bye Just imagine all I could be In a place where no one knows me No one there to disagree And I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars I’ll dance to the sound of the dying stars And illuminate the way with my own light

Life is just a breath, an instant It disappears in the distance I never wanted to listen And even when I get the sign I thought it would be alright And ignored every warning light Oooh I guess I’ll have to accept I have all the time in the world to reflect On which one of us was correct Now that my ego is gone I hope one day you can move on Don’t we all need a lesson It’s always been out of the question To take a suggestion I made everyone think I knew But I’ve never had a clue Of what I was about to do Oooh I guess I’ll have to accept I have all the time in the world to reflect On which one of us was correct Now that my ego is gone I hope one day you can move on I’ll have to accept I’ve had the time to reflect I really think you’re correct I hope one day you can move on I’ll have to accept It’s a little too late to regret You have the right to be upset I hope one day you can move on

The sun is shining, all is quiet It’s a beautiful day, you can’t deny it Soon nature will wake up and start its dance Until then take one last glance It’s times like these you get to know Who’ll be there for you in rain or snow You should learn how not to live your life in fear This time tomorrow we might not be here When the night comes we’ll sing to the moon And not care if we’re out of tune If your sky ever turns grey, don’t worry I’ll chase the clouds around you away Sometimes you can get hurt and bleed And ask yourself if this is really everything you need Things ain’t always clear, we can be unsure But it’s all part of what we must endure When the night comes we’ll sing to the moon And not care if we’re out of tune If your sky ever turns grey, don’t worry I’ll chase the clouds around you away

I left you guessing Without a vestige Of what went on I said I would message But I had a presage I wouldn’t make it to dawn It was never the plan To be a well-known man But suddenly I have become… Some say conspiracy Frozen in history Its still a mystery, for you to solve An act of infamy An open inquiry No one knows Dyatlov The weather turning The cold was burning The sky was aglow It was night Yet the light was blinding The snow was sliding There was nowhere to go It was not my intention To get your attention Now look at what I have turned into… Some say conspiracy Frozen in history Its still a mystery, for you to solve An act of infamy An open inquiry No one knows Dyatlov

The winter sun will rise For you to take in what’s in front of your eyes Feeling just as free As every living thing we see Scurrying on the ground To their own sound When we hear the first thunder Maybe we’ll start to wonder If we’ll ever reach the peak My friend it’s been over a week It’s getting heavier and colder On my shoulder This is the time we had longed for Wandering astray once more Lost but found In each other’s company Before we started to climb We should have taken the time To assess the possibility Of our inability To map and retrace The way to our starting place If we got off the track And never found our way back I think I could get used to Spending my days here with you Living life at ease Swinging from the trees This is the time we had longed for Wandering astray once more Lost but found In each other’s company

Let’s pack up and go Pack up and go It’s the end of the show You just have to let it go Boots in the rain Boots in the rain Searching in vain For ways to explain Tuesday comes We’re still far away It’s Wednesday now No one seems to have a thing to say Thursday The novelty of being here is gone It’s time to get back It’s been way too long What are you looking for What are you looking for A clue you can’t ignore Before you can’t walk no more Can’t find the way out Find the way out There’s little or no doubt Time is running out Friday comes We’re still far away The weekend comes No one seems to have a thing to say Sunday The novelty of being here is gone It’s time to get back It’s time to move on An inconclusive case Inconclusive case Gone without a trace It’s a pointless chase Boots in the rain Boots in the rain It’s all the same Boots in the rain

Covered up in contradiction The truth is stranger than fiction Was the plot even that thick Or was it your mind just playing tricks Deception and denial Judged without a trial When no one can confess I can only guess Comic staged acts In misleading clues from photographs That make you question your beliefs Make the wind and rain cease Until I find the missing piece I’ll be the one who brings it all to light Tell the storm to calm down It must be hiding underground We can’t be that far from unveiling the last trace And maybe we can at last consider this a closed case Bruises and a deep cut Won’t reveal a well-kept secret They will bluff and cheat But you won’t accept defeat Comic staged acts In misleading clues from photographs That make you question your beliefs Make the wind and rain cease Until I find the missing piece I’ll be the one who brings it all to light Tell the storm to calm down It must be hiding underground We can’t be that far from unveiling the last trace And maybe we can at last consider this a closed case!
